Thank you so much for visiting my website! My name is Alexandra Hidalgo and I’m an award-winning Venezuelan filmmaker, theorist, and editor. Through my film company Sabana Grande Productions, I make documentaries and video essays that have been official selections for film festivals in 12 countries, screened at universities around the United States, and published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. My videos and activist writing have been featured on The Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire, NPR, and Women and Hollywood. I’m also an assistant professor of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures at Michigan State University.
